Welcome to my (new and improved) yarn giveaway/fund-raising effort

The goal: To raise $4,200 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, by June 15th. I’ve raised $2,500+ so far, but still have a ways to go . . . .

The story: I’m running a half-marathon (13.1 miles) with Team in Training to raise funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Funds support research, and patient services. I’m running for my dad (who has lymphoma), and in memory of my friend Tony’s dad Peter Bowman, among others. This weekend at our first training run, we heard a moving story from one runner who suffers from lymphoma herself. She has completed 6 months of chemotherapy and participated in a clinical trial, thanks to Team in Training research funding, but is still considered at risk. She is 32 and has 2 young children.

How to win: Click on the Team in Training button in the sidebar or visit my web page before June 16th, and make a donation: Every $10 counts as one entry. E-mail me at kirsty dot home at gmail dot com, with subject line Yarn Contest and I’ll put your name in. (Please include your own blog url in the email if you want and I’ll come visit.) I’ll draw names randomly on June 16th and let you know (hopefully) what you’ve won. Donations are tax deductible in the U.S. (not sure elsewhere); funds support much-needed research and useful patient services.

If you’re among the first 10 people to post a link to this page on your own blog (and email the url to me) I’ll enter your name one time for free.

(Or you can do both!)

Questions about the cause or anything else? Check the web page via the links or email me or comment. I’ll answer you quickly. Thank you for your support!
